Hi
Has anyone had any experience of setting up VMs and VM instances in SNC?
I import all of my machine data from a 3rd party discovery tool, LANDesk.
There is a business rule (ootb) that sets the 'Virtual' true/false field and seems to be trying to establish relationships between VM hosts and VM instances but this doesn't work for me.
What's the best way for me classify these machines and show the relationships on the BSM? Should I be trying to make the BR work or drop that and go to manual relationships, forgoing the vm instances altogether.
Confused,
Andrew

Here is a blog entry from one of our developers that mentions VM instances: CI Relationships...
You may want to reply to his blog for additional information, or try typing 'Virtual' into the 'Search' field on the Community homepage (The search box on the forum's seems to revert to one without the search functionality built in) and wait a few seconds, it will return all posts in the community that have the term 'virtual' in them... That is how I found that blog entry.

Thanks Rob, we don't use the SNC discovery here, LANDesk is our main tool for that so I guess I will draw the relationships manually.
Looking at it again I doubt we'll use the vm instances but just treat everything as a Windows server and manually create 'hosts:hosted by' relationships.
Cheers
Andy
