Hi,

CMDB Developer:

He is responsible for implementing technical solutions which will help keeping the CMDB as healthy as possible. He is responsible for integrations, discovery and Service Mapping. He is the person to configure health dashboard.

CMBD Admin:

He is a person who will look after the results of health dashboard and check why the CI was not complaint, etc. He is a person who will be doing manual creation of CI is required. He can create reports for stake holders, etc.

    • The Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Process Lead will have the responsibility for administering the CMDB process within the organization, working closely with other process leads and to ensure that Asset specific information can be gathered and disseminated using efficient and consistently followed processes.

    • This role will work closely with Event Management, Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request, Disaster

  • Recovery specific process managers and also with the customer. The CMDB lead will administer, manage and carry out all aspects of the CMDB process. This role will also ensure data yielded from this process will be of high quality and provide management with the right level of business intelligence and reporting.

Thanks,
Ashutosh

Good morning,

I am very new to SN and need some advise/guidance please.

I need to setup 2 roles :

  • CMDB Admin
  • CMDB Read-Only

When following the above diagram, I can see the "admin" group. This role can edit/update user accounts in SN which should not be part of the CMDB Admin role. Is this by design or is there an additional role I can remove to stop this?

Also the same with CMDB Read-Only, they can seem to open any CMDB CI's when using the above diagram.

Am I missing something or doing something complete wrong?

Regards

Roelof
