What do people do for Release Management for Hardware / Infrastructure change?

My team is looking at the Digital Product Release module but I don't see how it really fits with Hardware / Infrastructure changes. I wondered what others do and if you know of any best practice sources.

At the time of the launch of DPR, in one of the webinars, it was said by SN employees that, DPR is currently for software release only. To use DPR for H/w change, need to wait.
