Hello everyone,
I hope this message finds you well. I am uncertain if this is the appropriate forum for my query, so please forgive me if it should be posted elsewhere.
I am a Process Owner at a US insurance company that has been utilizing ServiceNow to manage our IT services for several years. Over time, we have heavily customized our Change Management application to align with our business needs. We are now in the early stages of reverting to the "out-of-box" configuration to leverage the updates and enhancements that ServiceNow offers.
One area of particular interest to us is the best practices for implementing change models. Currently, we have over 300 standard change templates in use. Based on our experiences and lessons learned, we aim to transition from maintaining such an extensive standard change catalog to developing models that better manage the types of work currently performed under our Standard Changes.
We are keen to connect with a company that has successfully implemented change models in their Change Process. We would greatly appreciate any insights, best practices, and advice that could help us prepare for this transition.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Best regards,
Kerri

Hi @Kerri
Greetings!!
I’d like to share my experience on this topic, as I’ve worked as a Change Manager and our organization is also a ServiceNow partner. We can assist you in driving this initiative effectively.
Regarding the 300 standard change templates you mentioned—yes, I agree these were likely created based on specific business needs. However, it’s important to distinguish the purpose of the change model. Change models are typically used to define different approval paths based on certain criteria, whereas standard changes are pre-approved by design. This distinction might be causing some confusion.
I’d be happy to connect with you further to discuss and collaborate on this.
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.
Regards
