what is the use of Production system field on change request form

Hello,

Recently I have started working on Change management, and there is a check box field 'Production system'.

I wanted to know what is the use of that field in a change request, is it related to its flow/workflow or what?

please help me with this.

Hi @Atik,

Production system, this field incidents if the current change is on any of your production systems in your infra...

Eg: If there is a change in your servicenow PROD instace ?

then the change raised against your servicenow prod instace will be marked with Production system = TRUE !

rarely used... I hope this helps...

@Community Alums thanks for the replay, just wanted to know if there is a dependency of this field on flow like there is no OOB process added over there in workflow if it is true then this process should follow or if it is false then that process should follow.

Please help me with this.

OOTB i guess there is nothing, but if you need you can include them in your flow...

Hi @Atik 

Production system indicate is your change is for prod or lower instance, generally it is not available on form and there is not OOTB flow / wf which has nay affect due to same. 

It is mainly used, when we use change management to deploy changes on lower environment as well.
