As mentioned in the subject of this post, I am curious as to what experiences you have had in integrating the CMDB with core suite of ITSM processes, and what were the use cases from which you have derived greatest benefits in your organization.

CMDB / CSDM is the heart of ITSM. The main use case is to find out the impact of 1 CI or Service Failure from top to bottom or vice versa. In change, mainly, the dependency helps you to make the right decision.
2. To know the exact status of your CI, CMDB is required. like how many Inc on a CI/ how many changes failed on a particular CI.
3 It helps to what best CI / Services you can offer/offer to customers.
4. It helps in maturing auto assignments of Inc / Change / prb.
