Which one do I use? IP Switch or Switch or Netgear or does it matter?

New to SNOW. In the process of adding our Network Gear (Layer 3 switches, routers, firewall appliances) to the CMDB and seems to be no end of choices of the CI Classes these items can be added to. While adding Fortigate firewall appliances I noticed that there were IP Firewalls and Firewalls, IP Switches and Switches and of course Network Gear. Does it really matter where I put our network gear as long as we are consistent with it? Someone else added gear to the CMDB and just put it in the Network Gear class
Any clarification on this would be very much appreciated.

CMDB CI classes are provided for guidance.
It's up to your company policy to determine which classes to use.
But, please keep in mind that choosing right class will help you to determine correct CI relationships.
Use below to allow relationships between different classes.

Not sure you check that but in the link below you can find the tables that discovery would populate in this case so you might use the same class
