Hi all,

I'm trying to identify the role that can update the cmdb ci information

I found the role sn_cmdb_editor and accoording to the description this role should have this access but when trying it it seemingly has only read rights on the cmdb when defining a user with that role

there is also the asset role but this can also update the assets and i would like to be able to split this.
other role that can update is the itil role but that can also do  more.

Hi,

Please give itil_admin role or try first with ITIL role if doesn't work then give ITIL_admin role to do this.

Regards

Please hit like and mark my response as correct if that helps

might be an option but ITIL admin role can do to much like delete tickets
just want to use a role that can only update the ci's nothing more nothing less

as stated looking at the role sn_cmdb_editior accoording to the description it should have CRUD on the cmdb but when testing its only read access.

Hello,

As per the OOB configuration, the only two roles common for create and write are itil and asset.

But in case if you do not want o give any of the above role we have the below two roles in create ACL. So you can configure a write ACL as well with the below two roles and it should do the trick
