XML Export/Import vs Update Sets

Good morning!

I was wondering if there was a way to push records into an update set rather than exporting the records via XML and importing the files.

I think the answer is "no" but I wanted to check with the gurus first.

Thanks!!

M

Hi Michael,

Check out the "Create Application File" option in the list choice menu.

Thanks AGAIN for your help! Is it safe to assume for the "Load When" option, that I would want to select "New Install and Upgrades"? The purpose here is just to get the records in the update set so they will move to TEST and PROD with the update set and save me the time of dealing with all the XML Export/Import files.

Thx,

M

New Installs or New Installs/Upgrades brings it over and doens't really give you the choice to install or not. Load Demo data is more applicable to scoped apps when you install them. Similar functionality with straight update sets.

(limited testing with each option.)

Hi Michael,

If you are on latest release you can capture records via "Create application file" UI action in list view. Reference screenshot here.

The below changes will be captured in update set.
