Session Code: LAB1383
Presenter(s): Jayant, Eric
Company(s): ServiceNow, ServiceNow
Abstract:
As we provision/discover our servers, its very important to install and maintain the applications running on those servers. As these servers can vary in nature (Windows, Linux, CENTOS, Ubuntu, SUSE), Ansible fits very well in application management and installation with the help of playbooks. Customers can choose to write their own or use the large community shared roles without having to learn each and every application. Ansible requires a controller machine to run and execute playbooks on target servers in CMP; this works very well. You can also setup a controller machine and discover the playbooks, then execute them on any given server.
As part of this lab, we'll walk through how to add a new config provider in CMP, the standard resource block structure and blueprint design, and how to deploy the playbooks in our case in any given server. This will be cloud and configuration-tool agnostic.
