Abstract: While Cox Automotive had tools which provided standard hierarchical org charts, we had no system that could properly reflect the organization as it came together to get work done, and very little data to inform decisions for staffing models, team ratios of various roles, contractor mix, tenure by product line, and on and on. Every time we needed to answer questions like these heavy lifting was required, because the results were in spreadsheets, the data was almost immediately obsolete. We turned to ServiceNow's ability to develop a custom application, leveraging existing development staff, built in security, and pre-existing integrations to existing HR systems. Within one month we had an operating pilot, and one month later a full roll out.
