Is there an ability to change an article template on a created draft knowledge article.

I would like to know if there is a way to change the article template once an knowledge article has been drafted. For example, an article is created with a 'general' template, but then the owner wants to change it to the "support" template, can that be done without creating a new article? Please suggest.

Thankyou

Technically, each knowledge article template is a separate table extending kb_knowledge. Therefore, changing the template for an existing article means moving it into another table. This is doable by editing the sys_class_name attribute of the article record. However, by doing so, you will lose the values of all fields that are specific to the old template and do not exist in the new template. Therefore, it seems to be easier to just create a new article rather than trying to convert the existing one.

I feel this should be a feature:

Companies change direction all the time being able to be flexible is key!!!
