Can You Use Knowledge Blocks With the Accordion Feature?

Adding a knowledge block to an article is easy: Click Add Block and it gets inserted.

Using the accordion feature so readers see a heading then click it to read the section makes it easy to find information.

The issue I ran into yesterday (Jan. 16, 2025) was trying to use them together creates an unusable mess.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can use both features together?

So far, my best guess is to create two versions of these blocks: One with the <details><summary> code for the collapsing and expanding, and one without.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

I answered this myself: I do not put H1 titles inside the block, but I do add H2 headings. If a block requires more than 2 H2 headings, it's too long to be a block.

The format that works is putting an H2 heading and short comment or introduction in the article body and starting the accordion there with the <details><summary> first then </summary> after the heading.

I'll add </details> after the block and before the next paragraph break.

There is a Certified ServiceNow App called Amaze that can do this and so much more. If you are interested, just to checkout what all is possible, book a demo at https://intellective.co/demo. It is worth checking out. Here is a quick video of better Accordions on ServiceNow Knowledge with Amaze - Watch Video

I'm a little confused by your inquiry, so I'm sorry if I'm misunderstanding. Are you having issues adding a block into the "detail"?
