Customising the filters available on the left after searching for an article

Hi All, does anyone know if it is possible to customise the fields by which you can filter your knowledge search?

After an analyst completes a search for an article in Self-Service > Knowledge, they then have options available on the left that seems to allow you to filter by Knowledge Bases and Authors - out of the box. can you add other fields to the field so that they have different options for search filtering?

Try adding Category to your Articles see if that adds what your looking for.

I understand that the filtering allows you to filter by KB, category and author OOTB, but I would like to other article fields as filtering options that are available on this filtering pane on the left of the search.

We wanted to do this but have been told it is not possible. Thankfully it is possible from the portal view for end users
