Difference between empty, 0, and Other in an Article Ratings Report

Hello, I'm trying to differentiate between empty0 (ratings are 1 - 5), and Other when I run a ratings report. Does anyone know the difference between the 3? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @Nicole McCleaf

Empty: No value has been filled

0: Value 0 has been filled

Other: Consolidation of multiple values, which do not fit in the report separately anymore.

Thank you, @Peter Bodelier for the clarification! Empty and Other now make sense, but if an article can't be rated 0, how does the value get populated?

Hi @Nicole McCleaf

That must be something specific to your instance.
Maybe it's changed manually after feedback is handled?

We have over 11000 feedback's with 0 0's. And I couldn't reproduce creating a 0 from our portal either.

Hi Nicole,

For me it looks like this report is displaying the average ratings of the articles, and that is why you are getting the likes of 3.5, 4.5 etc. So if someone has rated an article as 4 and someone else 3, you are getting the 3.5 The Other then will include any other decimal rating that isn't included in the top 10.

Unless you have specified in the report to only show Feedback Ratings, the [empty] will display for any feedback left as a comment. If you click into the {empty} chart my guess is that it will display all feedback that has been left as comments/flagged.

What table / conditions are you using to create the report, and are you only looking to show the number of ratings that have been left like in the screenshot below?
