There is a feature in the base system that lets you bulk import Word documents as article into the Knowledge Base:

How can I upload these articles with your information? (name, description, etc) or can it only be uploaded separately?

When importing Word documents, the name of each file will become the name of the KB article, by default. Thus, if my file name is ABC.docx, the name of my knowledge article will be "ABC".
By navigating to Knowledge > Articles >Import Articles, you can upload multiple files at a time, as long as they are going into the same Knowledge Base.
I hope that helps!

It depends on the format your import material is in, and if you have attachments or images.
We used the easy import routine to import in bulk. Its limited, in that it wont support images or attachments, but we found it more manageable than importing using word docs (Import Article routine) as you can set various article parameters as you import (author, knowledge base, category, valid to date etc.).
You'll find details here.
