Linking knowledge articles to a Location

I am looking to link Locations to Knowledge articles so that if someone looks at a location / site - it shows up any KBs which have a link to that location. Has anyone been able to do this?

Hi Jackie, we have built HR criteria to limit the visibility per location (https://docs.servicenow.com/en-US/bundle/utah-employee-service-management/page/product/human-resourc...). We always assign conditions to reflect the employee type, their status, and location as per their HR profile. Attaching an example of one of the conditions we use for our Employees in Quebec

We then assign these HR criteria to the Knowledge articles in the Can read field.

If you are looking not for limitations in displaying the article, but just a way to filter the KAs, I would recommend using Tags on the knowledge articles, it is an easy and efficient solution. You can also customize their visibility so that it displays only to certain users or groups.

This is what works for us with HRSD, not sure if this is what you are looking for, hope it helps.

Hi @Jackie C ,

The best solution  which i have implemented for this kind of requirements was "Knowledge Blocks" :

  • Knowledge Blocks allow authors to create reusable content that can be embedded into multiple articles. Changes to the knowledge block content will be immediately reflected in all the articles where the block is embedded.
  • In addition, Knowledge blocks allow you to secure sections of an article to a selected group of users using User Criteria.

Follow this Doc to cerate one for you : Create a knowledge block

You can also try featured content, this would require the use of a keyword, but it can bring up KBs based on location is the location is a keyword
