Is there a benefit to using the "Short Description" field instead of "Title" field for knowledge articles? Can both fields be used? Would Short Description be used without Title?

Short description is the OOTB field and should be used.
Is "Title" a custom field? I don't see that field in my PDI.

Thank you for the information although you provided more details than I had asked. I am a knowledge manager and I am very experienced in how to write a good article. I am still learning ServiceNow admin so I am looking for configuration/design/layout information.
My question is why use short description instead of Title? Short description may allow too much space for authors to write and makes it more difficult to standardize naming conventions.
Curious why you suggest dropping the "ing" in the title/article name? Example: Add vs Adding
Thanks

Hi @Cari3 ,
That's fantastic to learn that you are a Knowledge Manager !!
But in Servicenow We don't have "Title " As OOTB field, that's something which your internal team has added . you should ask them.
Ideally, you should use Short Description

Both Short Description and Title are simply field names. Short Description is OOB. The field itself will have a character limit to decide length. Short Description in knowledge probably coincides with the short description field in attached incidents OOB. Perhaps your company has named that incident field box "Title" as well.
