Hi Everyone,
I am curious to see if anyone has tried to successfully have tabs and accordions in a knowledge article which is easy to maintain by authors that are not HTML experts.

tab index and aria information will help users with accessibility software but not all readers with accessibility needs will have software to support them. For a reader with dyslexia, dyspraxia or dyscalculia the movement of words, text or images can be really disorientating and take away from the information. For readers with autism a busy screen can also be too overstimulating and cause fatigue other conditions many not always obvious to an outside person can be impacted from information that others may consider pretty. In my experience, if you want your information to land well with as many people as possible make is compact, functional, clear and consistent from page to page. Readers will appreciate it more and its much easier for authors to maintain with out of the box features and not much extra knowledge required.

These are great points. There's too much focus on designing for the software meant to support accessibility, versus designing the material with accessibility as a core principle.

Amaze would be nice, but at $2500 per month, its not worth it and management would laugh at asking for it in most places.

@chapmak - great point! Once you see all the features in Amaze, you would definitely see that with just 2 authors using it, it would more than pay for itself. And all the self-service, engagement and user satisfaction savings are a bonus. The ROI in amaze is over 100% for a company of just 2000 employees and it only gets better with more users.

Laugh is correct. One of the benefits of ServiceNow knowledge is that it's "free". I cannot imagine requesting an additional $30k. I'd be told to make do with whatever is available out of the box. This is why we keep asking SN to please improve the experience!
