Hey all,

I know it's been "a minute" since we have had a live KMUG session - the last week of June to be exact. Due to some personal stuff, I was offline a bit for part of July. We've reorganized our team a bit, and wanted to let you know how we are going to handle the live KMUG sessions going forward.

To give some insight, it's really challenging to get the same speakers scheduled for both sessions, which I get. And everyone at SN has been really busy here this year - trying to accommodate for that has been a challenge. We are all over the world, and our internal employee speakers are no different. I think we came up with a solution. Similar to how we do our "intensives" - the 60-90 minute sessions we have offered on Taxonomy and Info Architecture, we are going to structure our KMUGs like that. I am aiming to get the next one scheduled for September. This is what I am planning on them to look like going forward:

  • 90minutes - 2 hours in length, which will include one guest speaker, Q&A, and then for anyone who would like to stay on, we do a group conversation, similar to what we do in the KMUGs now.
  • We will alternate times on these and record them, and post them in the Featured Content section of this group. This will allow me to schedule speakers in their timezones and plan a little further out. Still planning on an "earlier EST" and a "later EST" - I use this time frame because it's the time zone I am in. But it will all depend on my speaker availability, and I will alternate the times from month to month.
  • BONUS is I have "the green light" to do these every month, instead of every other.
  • We will likely skip December and January, due to holidays and vacations.
  • Knowledge Cafes will stay the same, and I'll get those scheduled through the end of the year in the next couple weeks.

Thanks all! 🙂
