Currently Workday Spoke supports Basic Auth for SOAP based Actions and OAuth 2.0 for REST based Actions. To cater to customer requirement for augmented Security for SOAP based Actions, Workday Spokes have been enhanced by Bristlecone Inc. to support OAuth for SOAP based Actions as well in addition to Basic Auth.

In order to migrate from the existing SOAP Basic Auth to SOAP OAuth 2.0, user should first configure SOAP OAuth 2.0, then remove the SOAP Basic Auth configurations to keep the new configurations clean. Make sure to test thoroughly in the sandbox environment before promoting the new changes to production environment.

Users must configure either SOAP Basic Auth or SOAP OAuth2.0 but should not be both.

If both SOAP Basic Auth and SOAP Auth 2.0 are configured for whatever reasons, Workday Spoke will consider the SOAP OAuth2.0 setup only. Using the example of Workday HR Spoke, the following YouTube video provides step-by-step instructions on configuring the OAuth setup for all ServiceNow's Workday Spokes and outlines the migration path for customers who wish to transition from Basic Auth to OAuth setup.

In addition to this, the video covers other configurations pertinent to Workday Spokes such as:

  • Setup of Basic Auth for Workday Spokes
  • Configuration of RAAS in Workday for Actions using RAAS reports
  • Configuration of Webhook in Workday to support inbound flows

Hi,

Can someone please provide steps to integrate with workday and ServiceNow to pull the users data from workday to ServiceNow and vice-versa.

Thanks,

Lakshmi
