The below query is on the scoring logic of 'Multiple Selection' questions with respect to the Vendor Risk Management [TPRM] solution in ServiceNow.
- For ‘Multiple Selection’ type questions, this ServiceNow documentation explains the scoring logic for the ‘high’ scale definition scenario (link) and the normalized value that the system is producing matches with this scoring logic.
- However, the ServiceNow documentation does not explicitly provide a scoring logic for the ‘low’ scale definition scenario (for ‘Multiple Selection’ type questions) – we tested several scenarios and established it is not working in the same manner as the ‘high’ scale definition scenario. While subtracting the “(value - minValue/maxValue - minValue)” from 1 is logical, unfortunately only when we divide the “questionRating*questionWeight” by the sum of weights of “all" questions in the category (as opposed to only the "answered" questions), are we able to match our manual calculation with the system’s normalized value for a specific multi-select question. Is this the expected behavior in this case?
