Welcome to the Next Experience Washington D.C. release article! I'm excited to bring you the latest on the new enhancements and features that have shipped with our latest release for UI Builder & Workspaces! One of the themes for this release for UI Builder & Workspaces is to enhance ease of use, I am so excited for these upgrades! UI Builder
1. ⭐ UI Builder Moves to Store ⭐
- UI Builder has been relocated to the Store, ensuring easier access for users and more frequent updates.
2. Visual Data Binding
- Introduces a new UI modal for navigating data tables, featuring drag & drop interaction for authoring data binding paths. Formulae can now be browsed in an organized list with descriptions, enhancing usability.
3. Add Data Resource Panel
- A three-step process has been improved for browsing, searching, and configuring data resources on a page. Most commonly used data resources are now prioritized at the top of the list for quicker access. Enhanced documentation makes it easier to understand and configure data resources.
4. Modeless Dialogs
- Similar to modals and popovers, these dialogs allow interaction with page content and can be resized and moved around, providing flexibility in workspace interactions.
5. Column Layout Enhancements

Users can now add and reorder columns directly from the content tree, streamlining customization. Improved configuration panel provides easier access to styling options and allows for distributing columns evenly.
6. Tabs and Images
- Tab enhancements now allow the use of custom images and icons, providing greater visual customization. Icon search functionality has been improved, making it easier to find and select icons.
7. Form Builder Integration
- Form Builder is now embedded within UI Builder, offering seamless access for editing forms from both workspace and record pages. This unification streamlines the editing process, eliminating the need to switch between interface.
Workspaces
1. Workspace Email Enhancements:
- The email composer now supports popping into a modeless dialog window, enabling users to concurrently work with other areas of the workspace form. Email drafts now auto-save, ensuring no loss of progress. Users can insert knowledge links into emails and easily copy and paste email addresses.
2. Workspace Record Page Enhancements
- Record previews can now open in a popover instead of a new workspace tab, streamlining navigation. Keyboard shortcuts have been introduced to focus on record and sidebar tabs, enhancing user efficiency.
3. Declarative Actions Enhancements
- Navigation access to set up declarative actions has been updated, simplifying the process. Automation of some steps has been implemented to speed up creation. Support for more icons and button colors has been added, enhancing customization options. Actions on a form layout are now unified, providing a cohesive user experience.
4. Runtime Configuration Enhancements
- Users can now launch Form Builder directly from the workspace, improving accessibility and workflow efficiency.
