Does searching on the system logs cause slow performance on the production instance?

Hello,

Does searching on the system logs slow down an instance? 

We need to search for the system logs but my only filter is the message content, which will search through all the system logs. I just tried searching just for 2 days amount of logs but is there any efficient way to search through all the logs without causing slowness.

Hi @Rain Vaine ,

If the numbers in the logs are huge then yes it does impact performance & a chance for the instance getting slowed down. In order to search for any logs try to add filters as much as possible to narrow it done so it does not searches through all the records.

for eg if you are aware when that specific log might have occurred may be a date or day then u can add a filter stating message contains "your_message" & created on maybe yesterday or select some specific date or date range.
