Next Experience missing global search option

In our instance we are missing the global search source as shown below for the global search toolbar. Does anyone have any idea how to add the global search to this list?

We have the now experience search config but it still doesn't show the global source in the search bar.

I am also having this issue and the article above does not help.  The only search option in my navigator is Search Service Operations workspace.  Yesterday I had the drop down arrow to use either Global Search or Service Operations Workspace search, now the global search option is gone.
