The can_group dictionary attribute is not working in some field types like user role

Hello experts,

Recently I am investigating the can_group attribute which can be added on a field's dictionary attribute to control whether to allow that field to be grouped by in a list view. In one of my testing, I found that in the User Role and Variables field  type, can_group attribute is not working. I am still unable to group those field.

The image above shows an error when i tried to group by User role

Does anyone know of a reason?
