Is it better to just change the title in module and save it or change it in the translated name and field record? What could be the best approach?

Regards,
Vaine

Hi @Rain Vaine,

In ServiceNow, the best practice for changing the title of a module with translated names is to update the translated name record rather than directly modifying the module title. This ensures proper localization and adheres to best practices for managing translations in the platform.

Navigate to the System Definition > Translated Text module.

Search for the record corresponding to the module title in both English and Japanese translations.

Update the translated name fields with the new titles in the respective languages.

If the module title is displayed as a field value in records, you might also need to update the corresponding translated values in the field records to maintain consistency throughout the application.

Directly changing the module title might provide a quick solution, but it's not considered a best practice, especially in environments where localization is essential.

Always follow ServiceNow best practices for managing translations and consider the impact on user experience, especially in instances where multiple languages are in use. By updating translated name records, you maintain a more structured and efficient approach to handling localization changes within the ServiceNow platform.

You need to just change the title & translated name too. Try in lower instance first.
