Live Feed going away with Next Experience UI

Any ideas what all is impacted by this? I've heard that @mentions use Live Feed, but does that mean that @mentions won't work? We don't use Live Feed from the left Nav and technically don't use "Live Feed", but not sure what all it does behind the scenes?
