Purpose
The Senior ServiceNow Business Analyst leads efforts to build, integrate, and mature the Service Management program including the ServiceNow platform. Works with stakeholders campus-wide to identify, gather, and document requirements and create system designs enabling the implementation of Service Management solutions.
Essential Functions
Perform business analysis and design services on Service Management processes including those targeted for ServiceNow solutions. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true business needs. Lead efforts in the design of business process workflows in the ServiceNow platform. Assist in the delivery of new applications on the Service Now platform.
Marginal/Incidental functions
Other related functions as assigned.
Required qualifications
3+ years of experience in a business analyst role with experience in IT Service Management ticketing systems. Demonstrated experience implementing and managing Service Management processes. Experience working with Service Management and workflow tools. Analyze current (manual) end user service request processes, define the future (automated) processes, perform a gap analysis to get from current to future state, and deliver design documentation comprising all the analysis including detailed requirements. Experience analyzing data, evaluating trends, and identifying areas for continuous improvement. Strong written and oral communicator with experience communicating to audiences at all levels of an organization and varying technical sophistications. Capable to lead and facilitate large meetings. Working knowledge of IT infrastructure and the software development life-cycle. Able to fulfill responsibilities on several concurrent projects while managing expectations. Will achieve desired results under limited direction. Solid Microsoft Office skills. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. 5+ years of experience in a business analyst role with experience around IT Service Management ticketing systems. ServiceNow experience a strongly desired. Experience with Shared Services delivery model. Experience working on higher education IT projects or in higher education environments. Experience working with development teams utilizing Agile or Scrum methodologies. ITIL v3 Foundations or Six Sigma certification. CBAP or PMI-PBA certification. Experience with an ERP implementation such as Workday.
Working conditions
May work around standard office conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Limited overnight travel may be required.
