How to Integrate IBM Watson with ServiceNow not via Virtual agent but from workspace ?

Hi everyone,

I'm exploring the feasibility of creating a custom agent assist or dialog box within one of our workspaces in ServiceNow. I aim to enhance this functionality by integrating it with IBM Watson Assistant, allowing for AI-driven suggestions based on user queries.

 

The goals of this integration are:

1. Process user inputs (e.g., incident details or questions) in ServiceNow.
2. Send these inputs to IBM Watson Assistant via API.
3. Retrieve AI-generated responses from Watson (e.g., resolution suggestions, knowledge articles).
4. Display these responses back to the user in the agent assist chat or dialog window.

 

Has anyone implemented something similar, or can anyone provide insights on the following?

 

Please note that I want this integration for agents, not end users; therefore, I'm not looking to integrate the Virtual Agent. However, if there’s a way to make the Virtual Agent appear in the workspace, that might also work. I can integrate the Virtual Agent with IBM Watson X based on the ServiceNow documentation.

Any guidance, examples, or relevant documentation would be greatly appreciated!
