Hello Community,
We are working on Agentic AI using Now Assist / AI Studio and facing an issue while trying to promote an agent to appear in the Now Assist panel.
Details:
- Platform release: [e.g., Washington DC / Vancouver]
- We have created an Agent using AI Studio → Agent Builder
- The agent has:
- A configured Chat Assistant
- A valid system instruction
- At least one capability/tool
- Status set to Active / Published
However, we are facing the following issue:
- The agent does not appear in the Now Assist panel
- The option to “Promote / Expose in Now Assistant” is either not visible or not taking effect
- This issue started after a version upgrade
We have already verified:
- Required Now Assist and Agentic AI plugins are active
- Agent is assigned roles/audience
- Assistant is mapped correctly
- Agent is published and not in draft state
Questions:
- Are there any additional configuration steps required post‑upgrade to promote an agent to the Now Assist panel?
- Is there a specific Assistant Configuration / Channel mapping needed for Now Assistant?
- Are there any known issues or feature flags related to agent promotion in the current release?
- Is re‑publishing or recreating legacy agents mandatory after upgrade?
Any guidance, documentation links, or best practices would be very helpful.
Thank you!

Are you sure you are in Washington or Vancouver? These are greater than N-2 releases and should be deprecated by now.
In addition, Now Assist Panel (NAP) should align to invoking Agentic Workflows, and conversely, Now Assist in Virtual Agent (NAVA) should align to invoking standalone AI agents. It's possible you have some early release config in place that enables you to invoke AI agents in NAP, but these aren't common situations.
Try going to Virtual Agent > Designer. In the Assistant Designer, for each conversational assistant, like Now Assist Panel, walk through the wizard again. Then in the Information sources, verify that the AI agents or Agentic Workflow appears.
Mine is currently maxed out in terms of promoted assets:
