We are currently planning to implement Next Experience (Workspace UI) in our instance, which is on the Yokohama release.
As part of this implementation, we are evaluating control over the global header elements in Service Operations Workspace.
We would like to restrict or hide the following header icons for non-admin users:
* Sidebar Discussions icon
* Notification bell icon
We have already explored the following options:
* chrome_header configuration (sys_ux_page_property)
* system properties related to notifications and chat
* UX Themes
* UI Builder (App Shell is currently read-only in OOB)
* Other workspace configurations
However, we could not find any out-of-box property or supported configuration to control visibility of these header elements.
Our questions are:
1. Is there any OOB property or supported configuration to disable or control visibility of these header icons in Next Experience (Yokohama)?
2. Is cloning the App Shell the only recommended and supported approach?
3. Are there any feature flags, plugins, or upcoming enhancements that provide control over these elements?
We are trying to avoid unsupported approaches such as custom CSS or UI scripts.
Please advise on best practices.
Thanks
