Platform Analytics

We are working through the upgrade for Zurich and are working through dashboard changes in platform analytics and I am wondering if others who are not licensed for performance analytics are looking at the migration and if they are seeing areas where the Platform Analytics dashboards are more difficult for users or are missing filter functionality?  Maybe I am missing something.

Thank you

@Chris33

You can go through below Playlist from Platform Analytics Academy that can help with many questions regarding migration

Please  go through Platform Analytics Enablement Toolkit for more information

Migration in Zurich should be more smoother compared to previous releases. I would recommend you to migrate the dashboards in Development environment to check the features are working as expected before starting migrations in QA and Production environments. If you have specific question regarding filter functionality in Platform Analytics, please share more information.

If this helped to answer your query, please mark it helpful & accept the solution.

Hmmm ... not sure that really addressed the question @Bhuvan ? It's a pretty specifically request for feedback from people with informed views on dashboard performance, both with and without PA licensing, and especially in the context of Zurich. I don't think @Chris33 needs any links to training resources or migration advice. 🙂

Sorry Chris, I can't help you either, but I hope others come forward.

Hi @Chris33  , I am a reporting and Performance Analytics admin and I have also have some concerns about "Loss of Functionality" in moving to Platform Analytics.

Here is a list of what I've found so far in regards to functionality missing from Platform Analytics:
1. Widgets in Performance Analytics are not migrated to the Platform Analytic Data Visualizations library. If you have a widget created in Performance Analytics, you have to recreate it under Data Visualizations in Platform Analytics if you want to use it on another dashboard. The Widget migrates over to the dashboard, but it is not placed in the library to be picked from later on.
2. Limited filtering capabilities on Data Visualizations and Indicators under Platform analytics - the UI does not allow for columns to be added to the view. You cannot filter by "Created by" or any specific fields. Seems that you can only search by keywords.
3. When creating a new Data Visualization, adding a Data Source - this menu is very limited. All Indicators, tables and MetricBase are compacted into a tree on the left side of the page. No options to filter, sort, add columns or anything here. You can ONLY see the name of the indicator that you're looking for and that's it.

Here are the questions I have:
1. What is the benefit of moving to Platform Analytics? Is there new functionality here that was not present in Core Dashboards/Reporting/Performance Analytics before?
2. What is going to happen to Core Reporting, Dashboards and Performance Analytics? I've heard from a ServiceNow Trainer that these will eventually become deprecated/unsupported. But a date/time of when this would happen was not provided. And I am not seeing much information around this in ServiceNow documentation.

Not sure if this helps you Chris, but I wanted to share what I found as I have had similar concerns around this topic. I plan on sending feedback to ServiceNow about this somehow (if possible, I haven't done that before).
