When in Service Now, if I leave the page idle for approx 10 mins, my view will suddenly change to over 900,000 tickets rather than my usual 20 dashboard

What user, role, table, etc? Is it a PDI or customer environment, prod or non-prod??

This is not clear...

Aren't you using system administrator user?
