I realize that I'm late to the party with this post but I just cannot comprehend why in the world would ServiceNow decided to deprecate the Core Reporting module.
It was arguably one of the best modules as far as user experience goes and it was just super easy to show end users how to pull a report in literally 3 minutes.
I am absolutely devastated with how the new Data Visualizations looks and feels and not to mention - how it doesn't even cover the full functionality of old reporting module such as reporting on variables for specified catalog items.
While I understand the push for Performance Analytics, I just cannot express how disappointing it is to not have the reporting module and all its functionalities available anymore.
I'm quite sure some people working with the platform for long time are going to share this view.
