Edit Pencil not showing on reports in Dashboards (Despite Report Admin Role)

  • I have created a dashboard,
  • shared it with edit perms to another user (Alex).
  • In that dashboard I have created a simple report on the incident table,
  • and again shared it with both Alex's group and him as an individual.
  • I have given Alex the Report_Admin Role,

and yet when Alex edits the dashboard himself and hovers over the report, he does not get the pencil(edit) icon showing on that report?

Is there something I am missing here?

Try making him the owner of the dashboard by navigating to Performance Analytics->Dashboard Administration.

Or Give him pa_admin role, since this is performance analytics,

If it's Jakarta - PA admin role no longer used. I think they're bringing it back (thankfully) in Kingston

Add him pa_power_user or pa_contributor roles.

Also when he is in another domain he won't be able to edit.

I actually had this happen a few weeks ago to myself - and I'm the admin lol!  I think I cleared the cache and restarted my computer then it worked. Not sure what the underlying issue was.

User need to hover over report on dashboard to see pencil icon.
