Filter on sting field for dashboard

I need to create interactive filter for a sting field in one of the tables.  HJow can i do it?

Interactive filters is not made for string fields, but for choice list, reference fields etc.

Hence, it's not possible to have interactive filter for string fields.

Non - you shouldn't filter on string fields.
