Grant user permission to edit (certain) reports

I want to allow a certain user ability to edit certain reports. Is that possible without giving full report_admin?

These are reports that I created and placed on a dashboard I created. The dashboard is used by a certain group, and now that it's set up I want that group to be able to edit things. Even something as simple as adding another column to the report.

Hi,

If the report was shared with them, you could give them: "report_group" role. This allows them to manage reports that are shared with the group.

See documentation for assistance: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/istanbul-performance-analytics-and-reporting/page/use/reporting/r...

What I'm not clear on though, is if I share the report with 'Everyone' can I still share it with a 'Group' and the report_group role will apply?

Hi,

I don't believe you can share with a group and then to everyone. I think the multiple choice bubble that you last save the report on as far as sharing is the overall setting. If you're using 'everyone', that makes it a global report and would then need the report_global role. Please reference the link I included for guidance.

In your original question, you said it was for a specific group.

But, either way, you should be able to evaluate what role works best for your situation using the documentation I've linked to above 🙂
