How to enable "Duplicate Dashboard" without giving edit rights

Hi all,

We are looking into Dashboards as our Homepages will be removed soon.

Quick question: How do I enable people to create a duplicate of a Dashboard not owned by them, without them being able to edit that primary Dashboard?

Background information/context:
We have a need for users to create a copy of a "standard" dashboard where they can then edit the layout and add or remove content in a personalised view. They are used to this functionality from Homepages (where it makes a "my..." version when you edit content). However I do not want them to ever edit the main/standard version, so I cannot give them edit rights. The main/standard version will be used by new employees, and once they feel more comfortable they should be allowed to set-up their own version without having to create a new and add everything by hand. There are quite a lot reports on the main version so I don't want to bother people with that issue.

Right now the only way I can give people to do that is to go to the main Homepage, edit that, and then create a dashboard from that. Which of course is not going to work once Homepages will be removed.

I am aware that the actual reports will not be copied, and that is fine. I just want them to be able to edit the layout and add/remove content to enable the view that helps them the best.

Hope someone knows how to do this. I am an admin with security admin rights so I can create/add roles and permissions if this needs to be done, I just don't know which ones to edit for this particular function to be added only.

Did you find a solution for this? Looking for the same thing. Seems that even with proper roles, users can only duplicate a dashboard that is shared with them with Edit permsission

@AndersBGS  I tried to open the KB article you posted on other article about duplicate dashboards, but it looks like I don't have access to it. Could you please provide any update about it.
