How to resolve the custom interactive filter is null in dashboard

Hi,
I have a requirement to customize to the Dashboard date range. I have gone through and applied the following article
1. Created a Custom Interactive filter widget
2. I have created a UI macro following the below link
3. But in dashboard it shows null for Custom Interactive Filter.
Can anyone please help me on this where i missed so it will be useful.
