Hi
Is it possible to create an interactive filter that has a default value of Empty / NULL?
When the Interactive Filter is a choice list, on the dashboard you can select "--None--" as one of the options.
However i can not see how you can select this as a default. This is mainly required where you have other defaults i.e. if the Choice List is:
-- None --
Active
Passive
Then you might want the defaults to be set as:
-- None --
Active
Cheers
Alec

Alec - The default value you choose needs to be an explicit entry in the sys_choice table. So it if it none, ensure that the None entry is part of the sys_choice table for that specific element and table.
Please mark this response as helpful or mark as correct as you deem fit.

This is a shame as this rules out the ability to include Empty fields by default. In effect the "--None--" value is an automatic value in the tool and used in every filtering facility elsewhere and even in the interactive filter itself, so not being able to set as a default is just slightly inconsistent.
I get that when selecting the defaults values it looks at the sys_choice table and that is why you can not select the OOTB "--None--" empty options.
Would be a great enhancement 🙂

Maybe you could log it as an idea in the idea portal? 🙂
