Is it possible to display data from a third-party REST API on a dashboard

Hi,

I'm an intern for an IT company and they have giving me the task to investigate the possibility to display data from a REST API (JSON) on a dashboard.

Has anyone tried to do this?

I tried getting data from a REST API(Outbound Rest Message) and making a dashboard, only problem is connect these 2.

Hi, has this functionality been released to production yet?

I want to build a Studio App (Not app engine studio app), that shows a basic form with data entry fields.  I want to retrieve temporary ephemeral data from a 3rd party API, display it to the user on button click, WITHOUT creating a record in the custom table behind.  Once the user has populated other fields in the form, THEN i will write data back to the API and create a record in the underlying table.
