Migration to Platform Analytics in a staged fashion

Hi,

On migration I heard our reports and dashboards get converted into new widgets, data sources, dashboards, which have of course numerous benefits.

But, I would like to introduce or migrate to this in a limited staged fashion, so as not to interrupt others working on the platform,

Can this be done?

Hi @VL10 ,

You can go with Partial Migration!!

Migrate a selection of your existing dashboards, reports, interactive filters, and Performance Analytics widgets to Platform Analytics. Migration works the same whether you choose to migrate some or all of your content. However, you can move some of your content to evaluate the process or when you have a large number of dashboards and want to migrate in segments.

I read somewhere that typical users (meaning non-admin, non-pa admin, non-platform analytics admin, non-dashboard admin, non-viz admin, non-report admin) will not be able to access dashboards and visualizations in PAE until the full migration is completed. Is that true? If so... if we're going to migrate dashboards in stages, how can those typical users view the migrated dashboards and visualizations prior to competing the full migration?

I have impersonated a user who has access to view and create responsive dashboards and reports. He sees the "Platform Analytics Experience" menus but he gets a "Page not found" message when he goes to the Analytics Center. Is that expected before the full migration is complete? (For what it's worth, a role-by-role comparison of his access with another user who can see PAE is that he does not have the discovery_admin role.)

Following up - we had modified the OOB ACL with the 'admin' role and have adjusted that back so now others can see PAE.

Hi Susan - so are you saying this issue only occurred because you modified an OOB ACL prior or are you saying you had to modify the OOB ACL to allow users to see PAE prior to full migration?
