Hello,
i have in the cmdb_ci_service table some services that have in the parent filed other services.
I want to add to a dashboard 2 filters:
We are experiencing some problems with cascading filters on a Platform Analytics dashboard.
- On the Case form, we have three fields — Commodity, Macro Process, and Service — that are configured to work in a cascading manner, where each field’s available options depend on the value selected in the previous one.
- These data are defined in the table cmdb_ci_service.
- The data is structured hierarchically using the parent field:
- The top level includes 3 records: EE, Gas, and Idrico (these have an empty parent).
- Each of these has several macro processes as children (their parent is one of EE, Gas, or Idrico).
- Each macro process then has several services as children (their parent is the macro process).
We are trying to implement two filters on the dashboard for Commodity and Macro Process.
The goal is: when we select a value in the Commodity filter (e.g., EE), the Macro Process filter should only display the records (macro processes) whose parent is EE.
We tried enabling the “Follow filter” checkbox on the Macro Process filter to make it dependent on the Commodity filter, but once we select a value in Commodity, the Macro Process filter becomes empty — no values are shown.
We suspect the cascading filter configuration is either not working as expected, or we are missing a step in the setup.
Any suggestion?
Thank you

Hi @valesky
Unfortunately, this is a requirement we also have, but it can be considered a system limitation at this point in time. These filters are treated as two separate fields, and there is no way to build a parent–child relationship between them.
In short, we cannot create an A → B → C filter flow.
