When I am viewing a platform analytics dashboard I like to reduce the size of my browser so I can work on other applications and still see my dashboard, however, when I do this, it repositions my data visualizations instead of shrinking them. Is there a way to prevent this, so that dashboard board data visualizations just shrink and not reposition. I don't want to edit the size of the data visualizations because other team members may be using the dashboard at full screen size.

Hi
This may be related to how the dashboard layout responds to the available browser width.
Before changing individual visualization sizes, check whether the dashboard uses a responsive layout or fixed-size cells.
In the Australia release, you can check the dashboard layout here:
Navigate to All >> Platform Analytics >> Library >> Dashboards.
Open the affected dashboard and select Edit.
Check how the data visualizations are arranged on the dashboard canvas. You can drag elements to reposition or resize them, but changes to a shared dashboard apply globally.
If the visualizations reposition when you narrow the browser, check the dashboard layout configuration and test whether the behavior is consistent across different screen widths. I wouldn't change the visualization dimensions if the layout is shared with other users.
Which dashboard layout are you using, and does this happen with all dashboards or only this one? That would help narrow down whether this is expected responsive behavior or a layout-specific limitation.

its a platform analytics dashboard, with about 5 scorecards across the top, then the browser size is reduced, for example if the browser took up a third of the monitor screen, the scorecards reformat to a vertical instead of horizontal.

I am pretty sure this is the answer, but if anyone comes across anything else, please respond.
The behavior you are seeing is expected within ServiceNow Platform Analytics dashboards. The dashboard uses a responsive grid layout, which automatically adjusts visualizations and widgets based on the available screen size and resolution.
As the browser window is resized or the dashboard is viewed on monitors with different resolutions, the dashboard recalculates the available space and repositions or resizes widgets to optimize the display. This allows the dashboard to remain usable across various screen sizes without requiring separate layouts for each resolution.
A few factors contribute to this behavior:
- Responsive resizing: Widgets and visualizations automatically expand or compress to fit the available browser width.
- Widget-specific scaling: Certain content types, such as images or highly detailed visualizations, may not scale proportionally in both height and width, causing them to appear compressed or stretched on different screen sizes.
- Grid layout optimization: The dashboard attempts to preserve the original multi-column layout while adapting to the available screen space, which can result in widgets shifting position when the browser dimensions change.
Because of this responsive design, users may see differences in the appearance and placement of dashboard components when moving between laptops, large monitors, docking stations, or when adjusting browser zoom levels.
Unfortunately, this behavior is part of the Platform Analytics dashboard framework and is not considered a defect. If a fixed layout across multiple screen sizes is required, a custom solution using UI Builder may provide greater control over responsive breakpoints and component positioning.
