Platform Analytics Task Failed

I am working on the Platform Analytics Task and following the instructions.  I validate my work and it looks exactly as shown but it keeps failing.  What am I doing wrong?

I've just run through this task to refresh my memory and after taking another look at your screenshots, your chart name shows as "Incident Overview" and not "Open Incidents by Priority" which leads me to believe that step 7 has been missed/not followed fully. I've tried to highlight each location that needs to be updated in the screenshots below and by using example text.

I've also noticed from your screenshots that you haven't impersonated Platform User, this might not be a issue but from a troubleshooting perspective, I would double check that you have updated both the chart title AND the chart name. If both of those look correct, impersonate Platform User and follow all of the steps again.

 

If it's still failing to validate after that then you might need to raise a support case if you're 100% sure that you have followed all of the steps exactly as outlined in the task instructions.

 

NOTE: I've also spotted that you're currently working through the Xanadu version of this course, there is a Zurich release version which would be better for you to complete as it is newer and more up to date.

Hi @jaydoran,

 

Looking at the screenshots in your 2026 - Platform Analytics Academy Session post, did you update both the 'chart title' (step 6) AND the 'chart name' (step 7) to "Open Incidents by Priority"?

 

From what I've seen on similar posts to yours, step 7 is often overlooked as the 'details' panel (the little ⓘ information icon in the top of the screen) isn't always the most obvious to spot.

 

If you're still encountering validation issues, please an you provide screenshots that show the contents of the fields I mentioned above? This should help myself or others to try and identify what the cause of the issue might be.

To your first question, yes, I updated both the 6. chart title and 7. chart description.

Hi @jaydoran 

 

This Platform Analytics Task which is getting failed - is it from Welcome to Servicenow course or Platform Analytics course.

Share the screen shot .

 

If it is part of Welcome to Servicenow, if the current dashboard is not working, deactivate current dashboard, a small miss of configuration on dashboard creation can lead to validation fail.

 

If it is part of platform Analytics course - there impersonation plays a big role. 

 

You just double validate the Task steps.
