Seems very easy to break Platform Analytics

So, twice now with a brand new instance I've seen Platform Analytics broken to the point where it's become impossible to create new data visualizations. So far I've seen: data viz will hang in a forever loading state, sidebar will hang in a forever loading state, the data source button is unclickable, or the data source button is missing from the sidebar entirely.
This usually seems to correspond with mangling CSS or a UI builder component somewhere else in the system. Sometimes repairing UI builder is enough to fix it, other times not. Has anyone else run into a similar issue? How did you resolve your troubles?
Edit: make that three times! And yes I've submitted a HI ticket.

I was working on a duplicated dashboard and the dev came back to me telling me my issue was related to this KB https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sys_kb_id=d2a0c0aa1bb5095086b3ece6b04bcb34
I was also told to reduce filters. But how many is too many for the filter?
