Stacked charts in Performance Analytics

We have been tasked in creating a stacked bar chart in Performance Analytics and the way we have been doing that is by creating multiple indicators and adding that to the widget indicator as a stacked column visualization. The problem is it works if the number of "stack by" is small or manageable. The requirement is to stack by CI which has 100's of records and creating individual indicators for those are an impossibility. Is there a way to get stacked column visualization without having to build individual indicators?

Stacking by something with 100s of items sounds like it could be very messy.  The way you could do it in PA is breakdown by CI.  If that is hundreds, you are fine, if it is 10s of thousands you may have a problem.

I am with Adam here, if the breakdown elements again in 10s of thousands it would be a problem for collecting the data itself.

Thanks for your response Adam, I'm ok with creating a breakdown based on CI, but I still dont know how that can be stacked. For example incidents on CI's per month. I can create a breakdown on CI, but to stack it the only way I know of is to create different indicators per CI and then add it all in the widget indicator section. Let me know if there is a better approach?

I think I got how to do the stacking now without adding multiple widget indicators, by using the breakdown and stacked column visualization

But the issue we are having is that if we select a breakdown and have another breakdown at the dashboard level that we try to follow that by it does not work, ie the indicator level breakdown then does not follow element

I would appreciate any input from the experts @Adam Stout, @chuck tomasi, @Arnoud Koomi
