User unable to edit the report even after sharing with the individual

Hello Team,

I have report on my dashboard, I gave "Can edit" access to a user, also I shared the report with the user but still the user is unable to edit the report( there is no edit option(pencil button) is not available when the user tried to edit the dashboard.

The user has report group role.

Please let me know if I am missing anything.

Hi msm,

If user is having proper reporting roles/PA roles then there is case that dashboard is having some roles defined which user may not have so that can be the issue. As dashboard is shared with the user. Check once if user has PA related roles like PA viewer and the roles mentioned in dashboard access roles.

Check the highlighted part in below screenshot for the roles/groups user should have then only he will be able to edit any dashboard even though you shared it but he does not have given role for dashboard he will not be able to edit the dashboard. Check user profile in detail for PA related roles/dashboard given roles(as highlighted below).

Thanks for your response and yes I have checked the highlighted areas. I gave the user can edit access, but here the user can edit the dashboard but not the report widgets.. for this I have checked the reports as well and I have shared the report with user's group. Still he couldn't edit the report.

Hi msm,

If report/widget user can't edit in dashboard then check report roles that user has or not.Check user has report user/PA_contributor/any other PA role apart from pa_viewer role because for editing any widget in dashboard user should have more privileges/roles than pa_viewer role. Can you attach some screenshot if this is not the issue?

I would like to understand.. the report was shared with the user's group, and the user has report_group role, now the user can see the report but unable to modify it.. 

My understanding is, the user with report_group role can only see the reports shared with their group and cannot edit it. 

Please correct me if I am wrong.
