Hi everyone,
We intend to move to CLEE and we currently have our data protected by Edge Encryption.
I am wondering what the best way of approaching this would be.
Has anyone any experience in this process, can the data be migrated using CLEE from one type of encryption to another using a migration job?
Best Regards

Hi @andrewmclau, we are working on such a capability to allow for a migration process like you've mentioned, but it is not available today. Can you help me understand what types of data (columns, attachments, tokenization? don't need specific names of columns or tables just groups like the above) you have encrypted with Edge and what your timeline is for migration to CLEE? Thanks.

Thanks Mike,
Mostly journal fields and string fields and a few date fields. Columns and Attachments.
We intend to start the migration soon to CLEE, I assume any enhancement will not be ready in time for us.
If we were to carry this out migration activity manually, is there a best practice procedure on how we switch from one to the other?

Hi Mike,
Thank you for the information.
Do you have any idea when this new functionality will be available for use?
Would it be prudent to wait for this?
Thanks again
Andy

Andrew, we are planning to have it available as part of the Yokohama release. It is up to you to wait for it or not. If you choose to migrate before this capability exists, the other option would be to manually decrypt the Edge data and then manually run a mass encryption job for CLEE.
